Habitat 3 – “Premium Desert Bio-Setup” (most expensive, display‑quality)

Goal: A large, naturalistic, bioactive enclosure that looks like a slice of Australian desert and supports long‑term health.

Step 1 – Large enclosure

1. Size:

   • Ideal: 4 ft L × 2 ft W × 2 ft H (or larger).

2. Material:

   • PVC or wood reptile enclosure with front‑opening doors.

   • Good insulation for stable temps.

Step 2 – Bioactive or natural substrate

1. Base layers:

   • Drainage layer (clay balls or gravel) if needed.

   • Soil/sand mix designed for reptiles (no fertilizers, no sharp gravel).

2. Optional bioactive:

   • Add clean‑up crew (isopods, springtails).

   • Include live hardy plants in protected areas.

Step 3 – High‑quality lighting and heating

1. Basking:

   • High‑quality basking bulb or halogen flood with dimmer/thermostat.

2. UVB:

   • Long T5 HO UVB tube spanning most of the enclosure.

3. Additional lighting:

   • Full‑spectrum LED for plant growth and natural appearance.

Step 4 – Complex decor and enrichment

1. Rock formations: stacked and secured to create caves and ledges.

2. Multiple hides: hot hide, cool hide, mid‑zone hide.

3. Branches and ramps: varied heights and textures.

4. Visual depth: background, plants, and different substrate textures.

Step 5 – Environmental control

1. Multiple thermometers and a hygrometer to track humidity.

2. Thermostats controlling heat sources.

3. Timers for all lights to simulate day/night cycles.

Habitat 3 is for keepers who want a showpiece enclosure and are ready to invest in high‑end equipment and decor.
